Sr 'A' Semi-Pro Hockey in the ROCKIES

Mountain Hockey League competes in full check NHL rules based matches all winter long. Colorado, California, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, Texas and Montana. Small town hockey, big time players. The regular season runs from November 1 to April 15 with a best of 5 MHL Championship series at the end of April for 'The CLEAR CUP'.

ABOUT

The Mountain Hockey League was formed for hockey players, by hockey players who want to compete at the highest level they are capable of. The MHL exists to serve the community and provide value to all stakeholders, fans, players, and sponsors. These small professional hockey teams create community in their towns. They create a sense of pride and a great environment on a Friday and Saturday night for the people of those small towns. These towns just happen to be particularly prideful about how good their hockey players are. Most of our players live in these small towns and have played hockey in much bigger towns but now have settled in these Rocky Mountains to stake their claim. Every winter, we find out who can still GO.

MHL PLAYOFF FORMAT

THE MHL PLAYOFFS – ‘The Clear Cup’

Top 4 league teams by points will qualify for ‘The Clear Cup’ as dictated by the theMHL.co website. If you want your points to be counted, please send the scoresheets to themhlscorekeeper@gmail.com. All games played prior to April 7^th against qualifying teams will count.

‘The Clear Cup’ is being fabricated in Long Beach CA currently made from the original parts of the first distillation machine that was ever used to make our presenting sponsors product. The Clear Cup will remain with the championship team for the duration of the season following the best of 5 finals each year of the Mountain Hockey League and will be returned to the MHL at the beginning of playoffs every season.

~Please submit your 25-man roster by March 1, 2025, only those players included will be eligible for playoffs series. This will be reflected on the MHL website for confirmation. To qualify, you must average over 400 fans per game and/or been in the league for 3 years without cancellations and have the ability to host home games..

TOP 4 TEAM MAKE THE PLAYOFFS: Best of 3 1 seed v 4 seed 2 seed v 3 seed

Playoffs will be 2^nd or 3^rd weekend of April, scheduling dependent at the higher seeded team’s rink, host team is responsible for hotel expense of visiting team.

FINAL ROUND : immediately after round 1 the final 2 teams will compete in a best of 5. Back-to-back weekends. GAMES 1 & 2 at lower seed GAMES 3 & 4 & 5 at higher seeded team’s rink. Pay for your own hotels.

~ The Clear Cup will be presented by a Mountain Hockey League representative in person at the finals. Further details of benefits of winning will be provided by our sponsor ‘TheClearBrands.com’.

Your participation is optional, I have designed this to be a value ADD, not an ASK. I am one of you, a hockey player, just trying to play hockey as long as we can. I believe this is as fair as I can make it. Please let me know if you have any further questions. I will anticipate your rosters as your consent to compete in the finals. (i.e TRAVELING for round 1 if you are seed 3 or 4).
